How Sweet it (Still) Is!

Mint chip ice cream at Fat Belly Burgers in Carbondale.

***

Trip Number Four ends with two Colorado Pass-a-Paloozas™. And an ice cream cone.

The cone is now officially a trip-ending tradition.

Our day begins by riding Fremont Pass (11,318 feet), then Independence Pass (12,095 feet), the two final Pass-a-Paloozas™ of the this trip. Both Fremont and Independence Pass received Honorable Mention on my all-time best rides list, as did many of the Colorado Pass-a-Paloozas™.

Independence Pass, over Colorado Highway 82 dumps us in Aspen. From there, it’s a short ride to Carbondale, where we stopped at Fat Belly Burgers for ice cream.

See you next year.

And now, a few pics from today’s ride.

Must be getting close to home.
Clarence has been using this disposable point and shoot camera all week. Curious to see what comes out the other end.
Ruby was still pretty clean when we arrived at the pass.
So was I.
An hour later, we were ordering ice cream in Carbondale. Mint chip for Clarence, Coffee for me.
Cheers, til next year.
