On Sonora Pass, with Dave Bowman in 2015. Along with Ebbetts Pass, it’s my all-time favorite ride for a single day. Do the two of those Sierra Nevada passes consecutively, and you’re guaranteed to have an epic day!

Here are my Top 10 Best Rides over the past 16 years, based on scenery, ride enjoyment, road quality and other intangible factors.

Pretty subjective stuff, for sure. How do you know what a great ride is? Um, you know it when you ride it. (Similar concept to Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart’s 1964 test for obscenity: “I know it when I see it.”)
