Where are All the Peeps? Part 2

Have I mentioned the lack of population in this part of the world? Wyoming has the second-lowest population density in the US, less than six people per square mile. In Manhattan, there are nearly 73,000 residents per square mile. On Day Ten of our 2024 journey, we don’t see many people, but we do experience Ten Sleep in the Bighorn Mountains, and Buffalo, home to the Johnson County Cattle War in the 1890s. After 266 miles on the road and few humans en route, we end up in Gillette, which calls itself the “Energy Capital of the US.”

And now, today’s photos.

8:39 am in Cody, Wyoming — and it’s time for Randy to head back to Seattle.
And he’s off, heading 400 miles northwest. Sounds like a sore butt to me. You go, Randy!
Here he is, about an hour from his destination, Missoula, Montana.
Clarence is heading home, too. He’ll spend the night in beautiful Rock Springs, Wyoming, then be home in Carbondale tomorrow afternoon.
Clarence does a final pre-flight walkaround before heading south.
Look who showed up in Gillette, Wyoming, after an expensive detour to the local Harley store.
Eating healthy. Salad bar at Ruby Tuesday’s.
Eating less healthy. Ribs, and yes Sarah, fries.

  1. If in your post today about experiencing “buffalo”, meaning those big hairy beasts with horns, I feel I must inform you that there are no buffalo in North America. They are bison. Africa and Asia have buffalo (often called water buffalo). BUT, the US does have the towns of Buffalo, WY and of course, my favorite, Buffalo , N.Y. Hope this helps.
